About This SORA Certification Class

Launch your career as a licensed security officer in New Jersey with this comprehensive 24-hour SORA certification class in Hainesport. How to Get Your NJ Security Guard License — 3 Steps

SORA certification is a 3-step process that must be completed within 30 days of your application date:

Step 1: Register with NJ State Police

Apply online at eapps.njsp.org. The application fee is $75 (credit/debit card only). Save your login credentials — you’ll need them later. Print your Temporary Certificate of Registration as a PDF.

Step 2: Take This SORA Training Course

Complete all 24 hours of this NJSP-approved training course with Marcus Aces. Attendance for the full duration is mandatory — there is no partial credit. Bring your Temporary Certificate and a valid photo ID.

Step 3: Get Fingerprinted

Schedule fingerprinting through IdentoGo ($68.98 fee). Book early — appointments can fill up 2-3 weeks out. Fingerprinting can be done before or after the class, but must be completed within your 30-day window.

Refund Policy

  • 72+ hours before class: Full refund available upon request
  • 24-72 hours before class: 50% refund or free reschedule to the next available session
  • Less than 24 hours / no-show: No refund — however, you may reschedule to a future class for a reduced fee at the instructor's discretion
Refund requests should be directed to Marcus Aces. Processing times may vary. The NJSP application fee ($75) and fingerprinting fee ($68.98) are paid directly to the state and IdentoGo respectively — these are non-refundable by the instructor.

  • Student rescheduling: Contact Marcus Aces at least 24 hours before your class to move to a different date. One reschedule per registration at no additional charge.

  • Instructor-initiated cancellations: Full refund or guaranteed seat in the next class — your choice
  • Weather or emergency closures: Class will be rescheduled at no cost to students
